In November 2011 the German government will host an international conference in Bonn entitled "The Water, Energy and Food Security Nexus – water resources in the green economy", as part of its contribution to Rio+20. In preparation for this meeting the '2nd World Congress on Cities and Adaptation to Climate Change' will also take place in Bonn, Germany, 3 - 5 June 2011.

The World Leadership Conference 2011 is a platform for youth all over Asia Pacific to come together to learn, voice out and take action to move towards a green sustainable future for Planet Earth.
As part of the International Year of Youth (August 2010 - August 2011) young people will be an integral part of this year’s 64th Annual UN Department of Public Information NGO Conference “Sustainable Societies, Responsive Citizens,” 3-5 September 2011 in Bonn, Germany. The New York Youth Subcommittee is organizing this pre-Bonn Conference briefing that will focus on youth related to the topic of this year’s Conference in Bonn.

The high-level meeting will comprise two consecutive informal interactive round tables on 25 July 2011 and two plenary meetings on 26 July 2011. The round tables will be chaired by Member States at the invitation of the President of the General Assembly and will address the following themes:
On Wednesday 4th May 2011, the Intergroup on Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development will meet at the European Parliament in Brussels.

A high level dialogue on the Institutional Framework for Sustainable Development has taken place, organised by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Rio+20 Secretariat. The outcome of this dialogue, held in Solo, Indonesia, from 19-21 July, 2011, represents an important contribution to preparations for the Rio+20 Conference.

This seminar will show how changes in price structure and sustainable infrastructure can lead to poverty reduction in a green economy.
On Wednesday 22 June 2011, at the Liu Institute for Global Issues (University of British Columbia’s Point Grey campus), a consultation was organised by the Canadian Environmental Network to provide public input to Rio+20.
The 64th Annual United Nations DPI/NGO Conference will be held 3-5 September 2011, in Bonn, Germany. The title of the conference is “Sustainable Societies; Responsive Citizens”. The conference could be considered as one of the major NGO events in preparation for the Rio+20 Conference and the tenth anniversary for the Year of Voluntarism.
