Rapid destruction of Brazil’s Cerrado ecoregion must not provide backdrop for Rio+20

The Independent newspaper’s Environmental Editor Michael McCarthy has published an article drawing attention to the precarious future faced by Brazil’s Cerrado ecosystem, a vast tropical savannah ecoregion, whose forests are being cut down at a rate faster than those of the Amazon.
