12th Global Major Groups and Stakeholders Forum produces Joint Statement

The 9 Major Groups, collectively representing all sectors of civil society, have taken part in a 2-day Forum to prepare their input to the 26th session of the Governing Council / Global Ministerial Environment Forum (GC/GMEF) of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), being held from 21st to 24th February 2011 in Nairobi, Kenya.

Representatives of Children & Youth, Indigenous Peoples, Trade Unions & Workers, Women, NGOs, Science, Business & Industry, Local Authorities and Farmers, are set to deliver their recommendations on sustainability, the green economy and international environmental governance (IEG), in addition to individual statements from each of the groups, to ministers at the UNEP “Green Meeting” .
