NGO Participation and Access Passes at Rio+20
To NGOs participating in the Rio+20 Conference and the related events:
Through this message the NGO Major Groups Organizing Partners would like to share with you some very important information regarding Major Groups access to Rio+20 official events.
The participation of NGOs at the Rio+20 Conference is open to everyone who has registered. Nevertheless due to limitations related to space availability and security issues, UN rules and procedures will restrict access to some of the conference activities.
In this context, there are three main events that will take place between 13- 23 June at Rio Centro Convention Center in which the NGO Major Group (MG) Organizing Partners have been assigned the responsibility to help NGOs participants to get organized and decide who will be granted access to the respective events in the best possible and democratic way, considering gender and north/south participation. This will be done through the assignment of secondary passes, and the procedures described below are designed to distribute these access passes to NGO representatives in a fair, equitable and representative manner.
