Nusa Dua Declaration released at UNEP Governing Council
In the first landmark Declaration issued by ministers of the environment in a decade, governments have welcomed the decision to organised a UN Conference on Sustainable Development in 2012 (UNCSD).
They have pledged to support and encourage the ‘active and effective participation of UNEP in the preparatory process of the UNCSD UNEP’s involvement in Earth Summit 2012.
The Nusa Dua Declaration was agreed at the closing session of UNEP’s Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum, and it also addresses issues including biodiversity, climate change, the green economy and sustainable development governance.
