Peace Child International launch ‘Road to Rio+20’ website
Peace Child International has recently launched a new website to publicise the journey the organisation and its partners will be taking towards Earth Summit 2012.
The site’s main aim is to ensure effective participation of young people in the sustainable development agenda.
To this end, it contains various surveys for young people interested in the discourse to complete and convey their perceptions on what has been achieved since Agenda 21 in 1992 and what still needs to be done for the Road After Rio. These contributions will then in turn be translated into Peace Child’s Youth Focused Political Statement, which will be their central advocacy tool for lobbying governments in the run up to the Summit.
The website also details opportunities for young stakeholders to directly participate in regional meetings on the subject organised by Peace Child, set to take place from July to November 2011.
