Stakeholder Forum publishes synthesis of civil society inputs to Rio+20

10th January 2011: Stakeholder Forum has produced a synthesis of Major Groups inputs to the Secretary General’s report for the UNCSD ‘Rio+20’ Conference. The Major Groups are the 9 groups of civil society as identified by Agenda 21.

The synthesis document identifies some of the main recommendations emerging from the Major Groups submissions, and highlights the organisations that are supportive of each proposal. It is not an exhaustive analysis, but provides more detail than the overall synthesis by the Secretariat, which naturally had to condense submissions, and does not outline which stakeholders support which proposals.

Stakeholder Forum will continue to conduct analyses of Major Groups submissions and interventions, identifying synergies and divergence in views.
