UNEP publishes Green Economy report

The UN Environment Programme’s Green Economy Initiative has collaborated with economists and policy makers worldwide to produce a report titled ‘Towards a Green Economy: Pathways to Sustainable Development and Poverty Eradication’.

The publication demonstrates that a green economy can become a new engine of growth, especially as a key generator of employment and as a vital strategy for the elimination of persistent poverty.

The report also seeks to motivate policy makers to create the enabling conditions for increased investments in a transition to a green economy.
