Global Transition 2012 Dialogue # 2

Saturday17th March 1pm-6pm (EST) with an evening reception;
Sunday 18 March 10am-3:30pm (EST)
Pace University, One Pace Plaza, NYC, 10038

The Global Transition 2012 is hosting the second Global Transition Dialogue on the new economy in collaboration with the following organisations:

UNDESA, UNDP, UNEP, UNITAR, UN-NGLS, Stakeholder Forum, new economics foundation, New Economics Institute, Green Economy Coalition, Civicus, Instituto Vitae Civilis, Centre for Environment and Development (Sri Lanka)

Building on the success of the first Dialogue in October, 2011, this second Dialogue in the series, coinciding with the March ‘informal’ negotiations and the third intersessional meeting of the UNCSD conference secretariat, is an opportunity for policy makers, international and local NGOs, academics, and practitioners to come together to engage in open discussions to develop practical, implementable solutions that will facilitate a global transition to the new economy.

As we move towards Rio +20, the outcome of this dialogue will catalyse, ongoing partnerships and ‘coalitions of the willing’ who intend to play a significant role in the implementation of policy and action which supports the global transition.

In order to achieve this objective, participants will engage in a series of roundtable discussions that focus on the key themes as outlined above.
